Alumnica App

The objective was a responsive educational platform that could hold Mexico's upper secondary curriculum and deliver it in a way that actually worked pedagogically. The design drew from constructivist learning principles: active, situated, and adaptive learning structured through microcontents that broke subjects into manageable, sequenced units. The differentiators were architectural: a guided learning process with continuous feedback, lessons approached from four distinct perspectives, and a fifth integrative moment that consolidated acquired knowledge before moving forward. The app task was precise: surface the right lesson, show the student where they were in the curriculum, and support their process through responsive feedback rather than passive delivery. The web platform supported the broader project, housing information about the educational consultancy and orienting prospective users before they entered the app itself. I built this in 2018, and I would approach several decisions differently today. The interaction design would be more considered; the research phase would be longer; the information architecture would be leaner. But this project was the first time I understood, at a structural level, what product design actually asks of a designer. Thinking of what shapes the product is and how it behaves. That understanding has not left me, and I am grateful for it.

I design the way I walk the world: looking for the structure underneath, and trusting my actions will hold weight.
